Charming gowns and suits of every j kind were to be seen in hundreds on i the lawns at EUerslie again today, j when the Auckland Racing Club con- j tinued its winter meeting. Brown and black were still in pre- j dominance, but were lightened by a ' considerable number of toilettes in i blues, reds, greens and all the other i gay tones so popular this season. Among those present were: Lady Sinclair Lockhart was wearing a j deep green gown of marietta relieved with rose beige, and her hat was crowned • with rose-beige osprey tips. Lady Xolan wore a black persian lame coat collared with soft grey squirrel over 1 her black satin frock. ller black hat was relieved with silver motifs. Lady Jlerdman wore a grown of figured , ring- velvet with a black coat and a ! small black hat. , Mrs. Roy Wilson wore a navy blue j crepe de chine gown under her brown velvet coat and a small hat of brown Mrs. I-I. O. Xolan wore a moleskin coat over her black georgette frock. Mrs. W. S. Spence was wearing a black marietta gown with a beige hat and black fur coat. . . . , Mrs. A. C. Day wore a fur-trimmed black coat and a black hat. Mrs. J. Shanly was in a beige frock, with a brown fur coat and a brown hat. Mrs. C. Phillips was in a beige and brown jumper suit with a hat to tone. Miss Wylde Brown wore a posy of pale blue flowers to match her blue hat and relieve her tailleur of black cloth. Miss Buekland was in a black satin ensemble with dark furs, and had a jade green pin in her black hat. Miss Ellice Alison wore a steel grey tailored suit, with a felt hat to tone. Miss Oribbin had her geranium rose frock relieved with beige, and wore a navy blue hat. . Mrs. G. Garland had grey furs with her black ensemble, and wore a black hat. * , _ Miss Garland was wearing a checked coat with a felt hat to tone. Mrs. 11. Lyons had a black and white floral frock under her fur-trimmed black coat. Her small hat was of black. Miss K. McGill wore a beech-brown ensemble suit and felt hat to match. Mrs. C. Lawford wore a navy blue tailored suit and a navy hat. Mrs. B. Xoakes was in a beech-brown tailleur, with furs and a brown hat with an osprey plume. Mrs. C. O. Macindoe wore a naples blue crepe satin gown under her furred coat of black velour, which had gold studding for relief. She wore a beige hat. Miss Jean Macindoe wore a checked suit of black and- white with a black hat. Mrs. W. C. Ring was in a navy blue tailleur, with furs and a navy hat. Mrs. C. Owen had a grey frock with fox furs, and a hat to tone. Mrs. Carl Prime wore a cigar-brown ensemble, with lacquer red, and a hat to tone. Mrs. Fred Alison chose a flowered frock of Chinese blue georgette, with a fur coat and brown hat. Miss Tweet Macindoe wore a mushroom pink tailored suit, with furs, and a small blue hat. Mrs. G. W. O’Connell wore a powder blue crepe de chine frock and blue hat with black furs. Mrs. Prior Williams wore a frock of floral georgette in rose shades, with a brown fur coat and a hat to tone. Mrs. Coleman -wore a navy blue ensemble of crepella with brown furs and a navy hat. Miss R. Coleman was in a henna frock of marocain with furs and a two-toned hat.
