CAR CRASHES INTO POLE

SMASH ON NEW NORTH ROAD A sedan motor-car travelling along a section of road under repair on the New North Road. between Mount Albert and Avondale, early yesterday morning, skidded into an excavation, slewed across the road and hit a telegraph pole with considerable force. There were four passengers in the oar and all of them escaped unhurt. The driver, Mr. Louis Locke, of Mount Albert, was cut by flying glass. The car. which was hired from a city ; garage, was overturned by the force ! of the impact with the post, and al- | most completely wrecked.
