£BSO EXPECTED
PLUNKET COLLECTION DONOR GIVES £lO NOTE This morning the estimated return from the Plunket Society s street collection yesterday was nearly £BOO. By the time that the last amounts come to hand, Miss E. Partridge, the honorary secretary of the society s ; Auckland branch, thinks that Collec- j tion Day will have yielded £BSO. i Several factors make Miss Partridge consider that the collection was highl> satisfactory. The collection last year was before the end of the society s financial year and included a laj“ge number of members' subscriptions. Miss Partridge says that the public gave liberally, in spite of the fact that there is a good deal of unemployment. Last year, the total sum given was £BOO. “People stated, almost without exception, that they gave because of the help they had received from Plunket nurses,” said Miss Partridge. “One anonymous donor gave a £lO note at a city stall. Another gave £o to a suburban collector.”
