February 1 0, 1 908, saw the opening of the first electrical power station in Auckland. it was the City Council's station at Freeman's Bay, used in conjunction with the destructor, and there were twelve connections. Further development occurred when the King’s Wharf Station was opened to cater for approximately 900 odd consumers on February 19, 1913. In 1 922, I 2, 1 45,000 units were sold, and for the year ended March 31, 1929, 93,634,000.
