KISS OR PAY!—A quaint English custom is carried out at Hungerford each year on Hock Tuesday (the day following Easter Monday) when two “tuttimen” carrying floral staves are empowered by an ancient law to demand a kiss from every female they en counter or, in default, a fine of a penny.
