Round the Churches
The acting-vicar of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Parnell, will preach at both the morning and the evening services tomorrow,. The evening service will be broadcast.
A special King’s Birthday service will be held in St. Matthew’s at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Canon Grant Cowen will preach and his Excellency the Gover-nor-General, the Mayor and city councillors and others will be present. The Rev. Carew Thomas will preach at the evening service. * * *
The Rev. Joseph TV. Kemp will speak in the Unity Hall at 3 p.m. tomorrow. His subject will be “The Two Resurrections.”
The Rev. W. Gilmour will preach at both services in the Edendale Presbyterian Church tomorrow. In the morning he will preach on “The Prodigal Son” and in the evening on “War and Peace.” ' The Rev. J. Pattison will preach at the Somervell Church.
The Rev. Len Horwood will preach at the Airedale Street Methodist Mission service tomorrow morning. “Talkies” will be used in the Strand Theatre at the evening service, when the Rev. Ur. Ranston will speak.
The Spiritual Scientists’ Church will meet at 3 p.m. tomorrow, when the Mater and the Rev. J. G. Hughes will speak. In the evening, at 7 o’clock, Mrs. Harris-Roberts will give an address.
“The Evolutionary Orientation of Christianity” will be the subject of an address to be given by the Rev. J. G. Hughes in the Progressive Church of Spiritualists, Newmarket, at 7 p.m. tomorrow.
The First Church of Christ, Scientist will meet in the Church Hall, Symonds Street, at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. tomorrow. The subject of the addresses will be “Soul and Body.” * * *
The Rev. Arthur Mitchell will conduct both services at St. John’s Methodist Church, Ponsonby Road, tomorrow. Both services will have special musical features.
Miss M. A. Burnett, of Japan, will give an address in the Grange Road Baptist Church at 11 a.m. tomorrow. In the evening the Rev. A. S. Wilson will preach. * * *
The International Bible Students’ Association will meet in the Masonic Hall, Edinburgh Street, tomorrow at 6.45 p.m. Mr. H. Archer will give an address.
