CABINET INVASION
SIR JOSEPH WARD AND FIVE MINISTERS PROGRAMME FOR HIS STAY Five members of Cabinet, in addition to the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph Ward, will be in Auckland during the next few days. Invitations were issued to all the Ministers to be in Auckland for Sir Joseph Ward's first visit since the election, but, although at first it was thought that eight Cabinet members would j arrive, now it seems as if five ' only will be here. OIR JOSEPH -will arrive by the Limited on Monday morning, with the Minister of Health, the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle. This morning the Hons. J. B. Donald and H. Atmore, PostmasterGeneral and Minister of Education, respectively. arrived by the Limited. The Minister of Lands and Agriculture, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, and the Minister Of Defence, the Hon. T. M. Wilford, notified yesterday that they could not come north. The Hon. W. B. Taverner, Minister of Railways, will arrive tomorrow.
On his arrival, the Prime Minister will be met by an official party from the United organisation in Auckland, and this party will accompany him at the various functions which he will attend. A special staging has been erected outside the Auckland railway station, and it is probable that Sir Joseph Ward will address the people of Auckland us soon as he arrives. A large crowd is expected at the station. At 10.30 Sir Joseph will attend the military review at the Domain, and subsequently will attend the Auckland Racing Club's winter meeting at Ellerslie. There will be no further Official engagements for that day.
At noon on Tuesday, a civic reception will be given in his honour at the Town Hall, and there is a tentative arrangement for him to attend the luncheon of the Auckland Advertising Club at one o’clock. In the evening, Sir Joseph will address a public meeting in the Town Hall, and It is expected that he will deal with the policy proposals of the Government. On Wednesday, the time of the Prime Minister will be devoted chiefly to receiving deputations, but It Is possible that Sir Joseph may officiate at the opening of the new offices of the United Party in Swanson Street. Sir Joseph will be the guest of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce at noon on Thursday at a luncheon in the Town Hall. In the evening the United Party will give him a reception in the Tudor tearoom. He has announced his intention of visiting the cinema projection machine factory of Cuff and Thomson on this day. The Prime Minister will leave for Rotorua on Friday morning, speaking there in the evening, and will return to Auckland on Saturday next, to leave the city by the Limited on Sunday evening. This tour will be the last taken by Sir Joseph before the opening of the session on June 27. Arrangements for his stay in Auckland are being supervised by Mr. A. E. Davy, chairman of the executive of the United Tarty, who arrived In Auckland yesterday.
