MUSICAL DEVELOPMENT
ORCHESTRAS FOR ALL THEATRES The sound and talking screen will do more than any other agency to develop a world-wide appreciation for all that is best in music, according to Victor Schertzinger, the Paramount director, who Is also a well-known composer of musical works. “The finest symphonic orchestras in the world have been assembled and are synchronising almost perfect musical accompaniments for feature pictures,” said Mr. Schertzinger. “That music will now be available to the smaller theatres, which hitherto have had to be content with mediocre musical performances.” Victor Schertzinger directed the Paramount sound synchronised production, “Redskin,” in which Richard Dix was starred in the main role. The picture was filmed in colour, and the special musical score was played by a symphony orchestra of over 60 performers. The theme song of the picture, “Redskin,” is also heard during the production.
