DANCING AT THE PIRATE SHIPPE
Ye Olde Pirate Shippe, Milford, known far and wide as New Zealand’s unique cabaret, will be the scene of a happy “after the races” dance this evening. On Monday evening there will be a big King’s Birthday Ball, a riot of colour and gaiety, with balloons, streamers, novelties and favours. Ye Versatile Pirates Band plays all the latest and brightest music. A free motor-car service is run between the Shippe and the buses. DANCING AT DIXIELAND The usual gay Carnival Night will be held at the Dixieland Cabaret this evening. On Monday evening, King’s Birthday, Dixieland’s huge winter ball will be staged and every arrangement has been made to make this an exceptional evening. The famous Dixieland Dance Band, which is appreciated widely for its wonderful music, will play the latest and most popular numbers, and there will be special cabaret ballets arranged by Miss Gwenth Macnaughton, of the St. Andrews’ Academy of Dancing.
