ALBERTLAND PIONEERS

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED 67 YEARS. IN NEW ZEALAND (From Our Own Correspondent) PORT ALBERT, Thursday. The 67th anniversary of the sailing from England to New Zealand of the Albertland pioneers was celebrated here yesterday in the Port Albert Public Hall. There wore visitors froiji Paparoa and surrounding district. A large crowd, including some of the original Albertlanders and their families, partook of tea. At the annual meeting of the Albertland Association which > followed reminiscences were discussed. At eight o'clock an entertainment was supplied by the Port Albert Entertainment Society, which presented its hew costume concert party “The Wanderers.” Dressed in gipsy costumes the party gave one' «>f the most enjoyable concerts ever held in this hall. Mrs. Busbridge’s orchestra provided the accompaniments and was greatly appreciated. A dance followed and was largely patronised and enjoyed.
