PARCEL FOR PROHIBITED WOMAN LABOURER FINED £5 Pleading guilty to supplying prohibited persons with liquor, A. Shepherd was fined £5 at the Police Court this morning. Shepherd, a labourer, was seen, according to Sub-Inspector McCarthy, | going over to Myers Park with two women. He had a parcel under his arm, and when a constable had investigated was found supplying his companions with liquor. The ' sub-inspector placed little reliance on Shepherd s excuse that he did not know that one of the women, ! at least, was prohibited. “He has j been living with her since the order | was made,” he added. “Both women j are at present in gaol.” “I remember the case,” commented . Mr. F. IT. Hunt, S.M.
