AIRDROME FOR TE KUITI
LANDING GROUND ON RACECOURSE CARNIVAL TO BE HELD (From Our Own Correspondent) TE KDITI, Thursday, After several unavoidable delays, arrangements have now been concluded for an airdrome to be established in Te Kuiti. The Te Kuiti Racing Club has agreed to utilise the greater portion „ tl3 - e , lnslde °f the course at Te grcmnd for the purpose o£ a landingrJn 6 presplePt of the Te Kuiti Aero Ciub Mr. H. T. Morton, has received an offer of a hangar suitable for housmg light planes, provided the ground is prepared in time for next summer’s nying. Certain alterations regarding drainage will be made, to make the ground suitable for planes to land and take off. It has been decided to hold an aviation carnival early in November, and the public will have the opportunity of taking short flights. In view of the expected activity in flying throughout New Zealand during the summer, the local club is *?nxious that Te Kuiti will afford all the necessary facilities to enable visiting planes to come to the town in absolute safety. Arrangements are now in hand for the carnival, and two planes will be available for the event.
