NEWMARKET ACCOUNTS
POSITION OF VARIOUS FUNDS The financial position of various accounts was shown in a statement submitted to the Newmarket Borough Council at a meeting last evening by the legal and finance committee. In the Bistrict Fund Account receipts to May 17, 1929, amounted to £552 14s sd, and payments £4.004 5s 9d. At the commencement of the year there was a debit balance of £ 5,630 19s 1 Od, thus leaving a debit balance of £9,082 11s 2d at May 17. The credit balance of the Street Improvement Loan No. 6 at the same date. £l9O 19s 7d, was the same as that at the beginning of the year. No expenditure had been incurred in connection with this loan which, in addition to the credit balance, had an unissued loan authority of £2,000. Payments to May 17 in the Relief of Unemployment Loan No. 3 amounted to CIS Is, leaving a credit balance of £166 9s 10d. The Workers’ Dwelling Loan had the same credit balance as at the beginning of the year. £ 957 15s. Receipts to May 17 in the drainage loan amounted to £I.BOO. being the proceeds of a sale of debentures. Payments amounted to £771 Ss 7d. leaving a credit balance of £1.065 15s
2d. Debentures issued in connection with this loan totalled £2,800 and the sum of £5.000 was owing to the district fund.
