CHATHAM CUP COMPETITION A meeting of the central board of the Auckland Football Association was held last evening, Air. A. Alenzies presiding. It was suggested by the senior league committee . that the control board should call a special general meeting during the present season to consider proposals to alter the existing by-laws concerning the transfer of players. The matter was referred to the legal committee. An appeal from the Thistle Club against the decision of the senior league committee in refusing the transfer of Carter from Celtic to Thistle was referred to the judicial committee. It was decided to stage the Chatham Cup knockout competition as a midweek attraction under electric light at Blandford Park. The decision, which was endorsed by the senior league committee, stipulates that the first round be played on Saturday*, June 8, the intermediate rounds as night fixtures, while the final round will also be staged as a Saturday fixture. The successful club will be financed by the Association should it be required to travel to Wellington to contest the New Zealand final. Entries for the competition close with the secretary at noon on Friday.
