TO AVOID BLOODSHED
WHY KING AMANULLAH LEFT COUNTRY NOT EXPECTED TO RETURN (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 11 a.m. DELHI, Tuesday. Amanullah left Afghanistan to avoid more bloodshed, following the revolt of certain tribes during the ex-King’s march on Kabul. This was the statement of a member of Amanullah’s entourage at Bombay. The rebel King, Bacchasakao, he declared, was not strong enough to withstand the attack of General Nadir Khan or Ali Ahmed Jan, Amanullah’s supporter, who is now reported to have hoisted his flag at Kandahar. Amanullah is wan and depressed, and is not expected to return to Afghanistan. Aa interesting event affecting Queen Souriya is likely in a few days, which would delay the departure to Italy.
