Maori Boy Killed When Car Capsizes

PINNED UNDER SEAT OTHER PASSENGERS UNHURT (From Our Own Correspondent) KAIKOHE, Today. A fatal motor accident occurred on the Maungatapere-Kaikohe main highway, known as Jacob’s Ladder, about four miles from Kaikohe, a Maori boy, Parekura Pehikura, 10 years of age, being killed. He was travelling in a car containing seven passengers, Which capsized while negotiating a bad bend in the road. When the car turned over his head was pinned under the back portion of the front seat. He was alive when released but died while being brought into Kaikohe. The other passengers escaped with slight injuries.
