Eden, who was a delegate to the Dominion Conference of "the National Council of Women, held in Gisborne, has returned home, after spending a few days in Ttotorua. Mrs. Palazzi, Mrs. Pagni, Misses Anita and Bessie Pagni, Mrs. J. J. Sullivan. Mrs. D. Russo and Miss M. Russo (Cambridge) were among the visitors at the reception given by the Italian Club to Cavaliere Dr. Giovanni Formichella, the new Italian Consul, and Donna Formichella.

Silver Fringed Gown Chosen By Bride FOSTER—TURTON At Cuba Street Methodist Church, Palmerston North, the wedding took place of Minnie, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Turton, of Kakahi, and 'William George F., eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Foster, of Palmerston North. The service was performed by the Rev. J. D. McArthur, and Mr. U. Butcher filled the office of best man. The bride was given away by her father, and entered the church wearing a gown of ivory satin and lace finished with deep silver, fringe. Her veil was arranged at the crown with clusters of lily of the valley, and she carried a bouquet of liquilia, orchids, chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by Miss Marie Shirriffs, who wore a frock of pale pink chenille, velvet and georgette, with matching hatband carried a bouquet of pink-shaded chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. A reception was held after the ceremony, when Mrs. Turton received, her guests, wearing a frock of autumn shaded ring velvet with hat to tone; sho also carried a bouquet of orchids and chrysanthemums. The bridegroom’s mother wore a tailored navy costume with hat to match, her bouquet being of wine-coloured chrysanthemums and orchids. The newly-married couple afterwards left on their honeymoon for a tour of the North Island, the bride travelling in a beige chene-deflour frock with close-fitting hat in tone, and a handsome fur coat.
