STATE TO WITHDRAW FROM BUSINESS LOWER PAY FOR MEMBERS Reed. 9.35 a.m. SY’DNEY*, Today. The new Queensland Premier, Mr. A. E. Moore, interviewed at Sydney, said it was proposed to give every encouragement to individual initiative. State enterprise would be dispensed with. Mr. Moore added: “We are going to reduce the salaries of members of the Assembly. It is the Government’s intention to take off the additional £250 which was added during the last Parliament.

“It is proposed to encourage a system of round-table conferences between employers and employees, and there will also be a restoration of freehold tenure.”
