RETURN OF THE MIDNIGHT FROLICS. IMPORTANT. — It was originally intended that the great dramatic sensation. “Young Woodley,” would be staged at His Majesty’s Theatre, during the coming Winter Carnival Week, but owing to its continued success in Australia the New Zealand Premiere of this much-discussed play has been postponed until June 11. The J. C. Williamson, Ltd., management, has, however, induced Messrs. Edgeley and Dawe to defer their departure for England and America and to return to Auckland for a Farewell Week, beginning on SATURDAY NEXT, June 1. This information will doubtless be greatly appreciated by local playgoers and by visitors to this city for the Auckland Racing Club’s Great Northern Hurdle and Steeplechase Meeting, which happens on June 1, 3 and 5. At the termination of the Auckland season the Midnight Frolics organisation will be disbanded and Messrs. Clem Dawe and Eric Edgeley will leave on a 12 months’ tour of England and America to obtain fresh material and new ideas, and on their return they will appear in legitimate musical comedies under the direction of J. C. Williamson. Ltd. For the Great FINAL FAREWELL WEEK, BEGINNING ON SATURDAY NIGHT NEXT. THE MIDNIGHT FROLICS WITH CLEM DAWE, MONA MAGNET, THE JAZZ BAND OF 12 And the other favourites, will present an entirely new and varied programme, comprising a number of novelties which have never previously been presented in New Zealand. THE MIDNIGHT FROLICS can confidently promise their patrons that their Final Week will be made particularly memorable by the splendid programme they intend to stage.
