FAREWELL POSTPONED

MIDNIGHT FROLICS COMPANY That the Midnight Frolics did not have to say farewell, as was expected, but would appear for another week commencing next Saturday, was; the surprise announcement made by Mr. Eric Edgeley at His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday evening. It was originally intended that “Young Woodley” would be staged in the theatre during the Winter Carnival Week, but owing to the continued sucess in Australia, its New Zealand premiere has been postponed until June 11, and “the firm” has induced the Midnight Frolics Company to return to Auckland for one week commencing June 1.

It was not known of the change of arrangement until just before the Saturday’s performance, and as it had been adA'ertised as a grand farewell evening, it was deckled to cary on and give the special programme. It was not until after the performance that Mr. Edgeley told the audience of the change of plans. At the termination of the Auckland season, the Midnight Frolics Company will disband, and Clem Da we and Eric Edgeley will leave on a 12 months’ tour of England and America, to obtain fresh material and new ideas, and on their return will appear in legitimate musical comedies under the J. C. Williamson banner.
