HOMEWARD TREK

HOLIDAY-MAKERS RETURN EXPRESSES HEAVILY BOOKED Expresses from Auckland were filled to capacity with holiday-makers returning home over the week-end, and in several instances it was found necessary to add extra carriages. Last evening the second express to Wellington was heavily booked, and carried 14 carriages, two sleepers and a guard’s van, making a total of 17 coaches. On the Limited were four carriages, three sleepers and one van.

On Saturday morning the provincial expresses carried a large number of carriages.
