INSPECTION PROMISED

PAEROA-POKENO RAILWAY ROUTE

HON. W. B. TAVERNER'S VISIT

The Hon. W. B. Taverner, Minister of Railways, intends making a personal inspection of the proposed route of Paeroa-Pokeno railways as soon as possible. This promise was obtained from the Minister by Mr. A. M. Samuel, M.P. for Thames, in an interview on Thursday, in which he urged the need for investigation. The visit will be made during a week-end in the near future. Mr. Taverner will leave Wellington by the Limited, travelling to Pokeno, from whence he will motor over the country to Paeroa, returning to Auckland the same night.
