REPRESENTATIVE RUGBY
. NOMINATION OF PLAYERS A correspondent, signing himself "Sideline,” writes as follows: “It came as a surprise to a large number of Rugby supporters when the list of players nominated appeared in the Press, to find the names of Kahu (Manukau) and Abbott (Training College) missing from the list for selection in the New Zealand representative team. The Manukau player has shown the-best form of any forward in the competition games played on No. 1 ground this season, both in hard play and when in possesion of the ball. It also might be said that he lacks nothing in the way of a fine line-out player. "Abbott’s form last Saturday stamps him as one of the most promising wing-threequarters seen on the Park for some time, his play being firstclass all-round. How these two players escaped the selector's eye is hard to understand.”
