MIDNIGHT FROLICS
SEASON NEARING END Only three more performances will be given in Auckland by Clem Dawe and his Midnight Frolics Company—this evening, tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow evening. At the final performance, tomorrow evening, each member of the audience will receive a souvenir similar to that presented on Clem Dawe’s birthday last Tuesday. A new programme is being presented this evening, containing all the latest songs, sketches and ballets. Assisted by Mona Magnet and his clever company, Clem rushes through a programme that keeps the audience intently interested or laughing hilariously from beginning to end. The \ xzz band plays delightfully, several ot the company sing well and Clem, always Clem, causes the laughter. Tomorrow afternoon a special programme for children will be given. RIALTO, AND REGENT, EPSOM “SEVEN FOOTPRINTS TO SATAN” There are mystery pictures and others which are simply detective stories. 'Seven Footprints to Satan, now at the Rialto and Regent (Epsom) Theatres, is of the former type. The action is principally in a mysterious house and the characters are appalling in some cases, quaint in others. The experiences of the hero, Creighton Hale and the heroine. Thelma Todd, are like a nightmarish dream. But they are intriguing and thrilling. „ .. . “The Freedom of the Press, which i* also being shown, is a story oc rivalry between a newspaper and an underworld gang, starring Margeline and Lewis Stone.
