DEADLY MYSTERY GAS

SERIES OF EXPLOSIONS ABOUT CLINIC CLEVELAND DISASTER (United Service) Reed. 9.5 a.m. CLEVELAND, Wed. Decomposition of X-ray films creating a gas which either exploded by itself or was easily inflammable, was responsible for the clinic disaster, according to expert testimony before a coroner’s jury. The clinic contained a four-foot pipe or heating tunnel running entirely round the building. Gas from the decomposition of the X-ray films finally filled this pipe. A spark or explosion of some kind in the basement forced the gas hack through the tunnel. A series of explosions followed up through every heating pipe through the whole building, permeating each room, hall-way, and passage with poison gas more deadly than any used in the war.
