TREGENNA CLEARS WANGANUI. Henderson and Macfarlane has been advised that the Tlain line steamer Tregenna left Wanganui yesterday for Westport for bunkers before proceeding to Nauru Island to load again for New Zealand or Australia.
SYDNEY STEAMERS.—The Maunganui leaves Auckland at 3 p.m. on Friday for Sydney, and the Marama sails from Wellington the same day for Sydney, The Ulimaroa leaves Sydney at nooii on Friday for Wellington. All the three vessels are due at their arrival ports next Tuesday morning. KAPONGA CLEARS MELBOURNE. Cable rtdviee has been received by the local oflice of the Union Company that the steamer Kaponga with cargo from Adelaide and Edithburg, left Melbourne at noon yesterday for Wellington and Auckland. She is due at Wellington next Tuesday, and at Auckland the following Monday. SUSSEX DUE MONDAY. The local ofliee of the Union Company has been advised by radio that the Federal steamer Sussex is due at Auckland next Monday from Calcutta and way ports. The vessel is bringing cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. Owing to the fire, which broke out in No. 4 hold, a general average is being declared, but the amount to be collected has not yet been announced. CANADIAN TRANSPORTER COMING. —Cable advice has been received by the local oflice of the . Canadian National Steamships that the Canadian Transporter cleared the Panama Canal on May 11 en route from Montreal to Auckland. She is expected to reach this port about June 8, and after discharging the local portion of her cargo is to proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin.
CHETWODE LIGHT OUT.—The Marine Department advises that the Chetwode (sometimes called Ninepins) ligiit is out. Jt will probably be relighted today. DEVON TO COMPLETE.— The Federal C ompany s steamer Devon left New Plymouth on Monday night for the Wanganui roadstead and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington on Thursday, and will sail finally from there on Saturday tor London and West Coast of Great Britain, via Montevideo. PORT CAMPBELL TO COMPLETE.— The C. and D. liner Port Campbell will now leave Lyttelton tonight for Wellington, where she is due tomorrow morning to fill up. The vessel will sail finally from Wellington on Saturday for London, Avonniouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via Montevideo. KENT FROM LIVERPOOL.-Due in the stream at Auckland at 5 o'clock this afternoon from Liverpool* the Federal steamer Kent later berths at the Queen’s Wharf to land the local portion of her cargo under the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company. From this port the vessel proceeds to Wellington, thence Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and New Plymouth to complete discharge. TAMAROA LEAVES LYTTELTON.—The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advises that its liner Tamaroa left Lyttelton yesteray for Napier and Wellington, to complete loading. The vessel is due at Wellington next Tuesday, and will sail finally from that port on June 8 at G a.m. for Southampton and London, via Panama. CAMBRIDGE’S -MOVEMENTS. —The Cambridge will leave New Plymouth today for Wanganui roadstead and Wellington for further loading. She is due at Wellington on Saturday, and will leave there next Tuesday for Napier and Auckland. The vessel will sail finally from Auckland on June 5 for New York, Boston, Avonniouth, Glasgow and Liverpool. PORT VICTOR’S MOVEMENTS. —The C. and 1). Line advises that the Port Victor, after being delayed by bad weather, commenced loading at Gisborne on Monday morning. She will leave there tomorrow for Lyttelton. Picton and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington on June 2, and will sail finally from that port on June 5 for London, via Montevideo. NORFOLK LOADING.—The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Federal steamer Norfolk, after commencing loading at Port Chalmers, proceeded with her loading at Bluff. She was to leave Bluff yesterday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington and Gisborne, to fill up. The vessel is to sail finally from Gisborne on June 6 for London, via Panama and Curaeoa. WIRRAL FROM NEW YORK.—The steamer Wirral, under charter to the A. and A. Line, is due at Wellington from New York at an early date. After unloading a quantity of cargo at W ellington the vessel will come to Auckland early nrfxt week to continue discharge. From Auckland she is to go to Australian ports, Noumea and Rabaul to put out the remainder of the cargo. The New Zealand Shipping Company is the local agent. POINT CHEVALIER REEF BEACON. —The Auckland Harbour Board advises that the beacon which marked the north end of the Point Chevalier reef has had to be renewed. Owing to a patch of rock existing approximately 750 ft to the northwest of the position of the old beacon, it is considered advisable, in order to mark the shoal water in that vicinity, to erect the r.ew black cage beacon on this rock, which has 3ft on it at low water spring tides. The new position of the beacon is as follows: —Kauri trig station 3deg., "Watchman Island trig station 99deg. WAI PA H I RETURNS. —The Union Company’s Island fruit steamer Waipahi (Captain G. B. Hoddinott) returned to Auckland this morning from the Cook Islands, and later berthed at the Central Wharf to land her mails and cargo. The vessel left here on May 2 and experienced head winds and seas for the run to Rarotonga. Cargo was loaded at Rarotonga, Aitutaki and Mangaia, and the Waipahi cleared the former port on May 14 for Auckland. Good weather was experienced for the return trip. The vessel is scheduled to leave Auckland on May 30 for Rarotonga, Mauke. Atui, Aitutaki and Mangaia to load again for this port. PASSENGERS FROM HOME. The White Star liner Corinthic, which is due at Wellington on June 3 from London and Southampton, has the following passengers for New Zealand:—First saloon: Miss I. Caldwell. Mrs. L. RIMUTAKA LEAVES MONTEVIDEO.— The New Zealand Shipping Company has been notified by cable that its liner Rimutaka sailed from Montevideo on May 17, on route from Wellington to Las Palmas. Southampton and London. She left Wellington on April 24. ANGLO INDIAN REPLACES INCHDAIRNIE.—Messrs. Robert Millar and Company have been notified that the Nitrate Producers Steamship Company’s cargo vessel Anglo Indian is to replace the Inchdairnie, which was scheduled to load sulphur for New Zealand at Galveston (Texas) at the end of this month. HUNTINGDON TO COMPLETE.—Due at Gisborne today from Napier, the Federal steamer Huntingdon leaves again on Saturday for Auckland, where she is due on Sunday to complete her loading under the agency' of the New Zealand Shipping Company. It is hoped to dispatch the vessel finally from this port on May 3" for London. Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool, via Panama. NIAGARAS PASSENGERS. Tin R.M.S. The Hokianga is scheduled to leave for Hokianga at noon tomorrow. The Arapawa is scheduled to leave for Wanganui and Opunake at 3 p.m. on Friday. The Rarawa sails for New Plymouth at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. She is due back at. 7.30 a.m. on Saturday. The Hauturu leaves Auckland for Hokianga and Onehunga at 3 p.m. today*. On arrival at Onehunga she is to resume her West Coast running. The Arapawa is expected from Raglan, Kawhia and Waikato Heads at 6 o cloca tomorrow morning.
