PAT HANNA’S DIGGERS
AT ST. JAMES ON SATURDAY Musio and mime. comedy and a little drama, plenty of sons and dance —that is the remedy of Pat Hanna and his "Diggers” for the blues, and that tired feeling. The prescription is to bo taken in one. large dose at the St. James Theatre, commencing next Saturday. Audiences throughout New Zealand and Australia seem to like the mixture. The “Diggers” appear able to extract humour out of tragic affairs as easily as a dentist does a tooth that is giving no trouble, and the latest programme is no exception to the rule. The trenches axe shown as the soldier’s dream of home, sweet home, with the cat wound and the clock put out. From start to finish things move with zip and zest. Ernest Kopke sings tuneful tenor solos, and is helped by snappv dancing by the ballet; Norman French. Iza Crossley, Stan Dawson. Pat Hanna, Adele Taylor, Joek Thomson and Joe Valli help to lighten the burden of Old Man Care with songs and sketches. The box plan will open on Thursday morning.
