PAPAKURA BOWLING CLUB

The Papakura Bowling Club held its anuual meeting in the Premier BLiildings on Monday evening. The president, Mr. James McCall, presided. The treasurer, Mr. S. D. Rice, reported a small debit balance of £1 8s 5d for the season. The secretary, Mr. G. W. O’Connell, reported that the club had had a very successful and enjoyable season. The' election of officers resulted as follow: Patron. Mr. E. D. McLennan; president, Mr. S. D. Rice: vice-presi-dents. Mr. Agmen G. Smith and Mr. James* McCall: secretary, Mr. G. W. O’Connell (re-elected): treasurer, Mr. S. D. Rice (re-elected): green superintendent, Mr. T. G. Smith: general committee, Messrs. Mogford, Hoke, Cornford. Dickey and Thornton: sole selector. Mr. R. Hope: auditor, Mr. H. Mogford; handieapper, Mr. R. Hope; match committee, Messrs. S. D. Rice, R. Hope and H. M!ogford. The meeting decided practically unanimously to withdraw from the Auckland Bowling Centre and apply for affillation with the Northern Waikato Bowling Association. An application was received from the Croquet Club for permission to manage their own financial obligations and sever their connection as a joint club. The meeting decided to accede to the request subject to one or two adjustments on mortgage, etc.
