NO CHANGE IN POLICY
DOMINION’S WARSHIPS NEW OFFICERS ARRIVE (Special to THE SUN) WELLINGTON, Monday. That the Government has not changed its naval policy, retaining tho control of only one cruiser of the D class, was stated by the Prime Minister, Sir Joseph Ward. There is at present only one such cruiser in New Zealand waters, but this is due to the necessity of sending H.M.S. Diomede to England for repairs and alterations. Several new officers arrived in Wellington by the Remuera to join this ship. They are EngineerLieutenant A. A. Hogg, Lieutenant H. Lovegrove, late of the gunboat Moth on the China station; Warrant Engineer W. F. Julian, late of H.M.S. Comu-s, Second Cruiser Squadron, Atlantic Fleet; Commissioned Telegraphist H. Pickworth, late of the Signal School. Portsmouth; and Mr. W. J. Tilsed, act-ing-warrant supply officer. Lieutenant-Commander J. D. Prentice, R.N., also arrived by the Remuera today. He is to join the H.M.S. Philomel at Auckland, relieving LieutenantCommander E. E. Addis, who is leaving by the Tahiti tomorrow on his return to England. The Laburnum (Commander F. X. Attwood) and Veronica (Commander G. W. T. Robertson) will recommission at Auckland next month. New crews for the ships are coming from England in the Corinthic, which is due at Wellington on June 3.
