HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE

THE “MIDNIGHT FROLICS” This evening the Midnight Frolics will present a complete change of programme, and the occasion will be doubly noteworthy, because it will signalise the celebration of Clem Dawe’s birthday. To commemorate this each member of the audience will be presented with a souvenir, which will contain a photo of the whole company. The new programme of delightful songs, picturesque ballets, original dances, fresh novelties, nety jazz creations and humorous sketches will, it is said, present Clem Dawe, Mona Magnet and the other members of the company at their very best. Clem Dawe has promised to respond to requests for a couple of liis favourite song successes. The present season is proving by far the most successful yet experienced by the Midnight Frolics*in Auckland, and playgoers will doubtless regret that this very popular organisation is to make its farewell appearance here on Saturday, when two performances will bo presented, one at two o’clock and the other night ae tight o’clock. Last night’s entertainment delighted a large audience, the splendid harmony produced by that surprising Waiuku Operatic Society being a revelation, while the efforts of “Pretty Louise” to “play the harp gently” was very appealing. Of course, Clem Dawe had the biggest share of the honours of the evening, and that he should succeed in keeping the audience rocking for the best part of three hours in itself is sufficient indication of his versatility. The Midnight Frolics present a rollicking programme throughout, and there will be many who will, with regret, say farewell to the company next Saturday.
