TOWN HALL CONCERT

The Auckland Municipal Band, under the baton of Air. Christopher Smith, provided a very enjoyable programme of instrumental items at the municipal concert in'the Town Hall on Saturday evening. The band played “The Wee Maegregor,” Gounod's “Mirella” overture, a selection from “Faust,” “A Hunting Scene,” a suite entitled “Ituliana,” an American sketch, “Down South,” and “Catherine,” by Tschaikowski. Messrs. F. Bowes and J. Davies played a cornet duet. “The Friendly Rivals,” and vocal numbers were rendered by Airs. L. Parry and Air. R. Richards. Air. L. Whittakes acted as accompanist.

In his seventh “heavy” role before the camera since he gave up playing in the farcical roles of the Van Bibber, comedies, Earle Foxe is leader of a gang of crooks in “The Ghost Talks.” This is a full length, all-talking feature made by Fox Alovietone, with two young BroadVvay stage stars Helen Twelvetrees and Charles Eaton, in the leading roles-
