NEW CRUISER LAUNCHED
CEREMONY AT ST. MARY’S BAY
The line new 37ft motor-launch built by Collings and Bell, St. Mary’s Bay, for Mr. L. Stericker, the well-known outboard racing driver, was launched on Saturday afternoon. The time-honoured bottle of champagne was broken over the bow of the cruiser as she left the water by little Miss Mary Stericker, a daughter of the owner. The boat was christened Rautangi. When the boat had taken the water without the slightest hitch a number of guests were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Stericker. In wishing the Rautangi the best of luck, Mr. C. J. Codings said he hoped Mr. Stericker would have many a pleasant cruise in the gulf. Mr. Stericker said he was very pleased with the way in which the boat had been constructed. Nothing had been a trouble to the builders, who had carried out their contract to his entire satisfaction. The guests were afterwards taken for a trip in the new boat and thoroughly enjoyed it. Mr. Stericker intends to undertake considerable winter cruising.
