HASTINGS TO ROTORUA RACING MAN HIRES PLANE Press Association HASTINGS, Today. The value of the airplane as a means of quiick transport was again illustrated here this morning, when Mr. W. G. Stead, the well-known racing man, having urgent business in Rotorua, left Hastings at 7.25 as Captain T. W. White’s passenger in the Hawke’s Bay Aero Club’s D.H. Moth, and was in Rotorua one hour and 40 minutes later. The plane attempted to land at Reporoa, but a dense l'og obscured the landing place. Owing to heavy clouds the pilot flew at G,oooft by compass to Taupo. He made a perfect landing at Rotorua.
