WINDING THE WATCH
TT is unusual to find tracks at this time of the year so fast as that obtaining at Oamaru on Saturday, where in several instances placed horses knocked many seconds off their handicaps. The following shows the main improvements among the winners: King Oscar (trotter) 3.39 3-5 from 3.45, Myra Locanda 3.30 2-5 from 3.40, Return Voyage 2.50 1-5 from 2.59, Wild Nita 3.28 from 3.36, and Logan Hanlon 2.12 2-5 from 2.17. Author Jinks, who finished fourth from 96yds behind in the rnile saddle, must have put up another remarkable run.
