N.Z. IS REPRESENTED AT JAVA MEETING PACIFIC CONGRESS SYDNEY, Friday. A message from Weltevreden, Java, says the opening of the Pacific Science Congress in the Batavian Law College was an impressive ceremony. In a speech the Governor-General, Dr. D. Fock, laid stress on the peace-pro-moting character of the work of the Congress, and said he hoped the delegates would get a good impression of the Dutch East Indies. Representatives were present from New Zealand, China, France, Hawaii, Japan, England and the Philippine Islands. Dr. P. Marshall, secretary of the New Zealand Institute, was the Dominion’s representative.
