German Cruiser Will Arrive in June
EMDEN’S ITINERARY LIST OF OFFICERS Carrying a personnel consisting of 26 officers, 68 cadets and 415 petty officers and men, the German cruiser Emden, namesake of the famous raider, will arrive in Auckland on June 26. The Emden began her world cruise when she left Wilhelmshaven on December 6, 1928. Her itinerary is: Via Gibraltar into the Mediterranean; via Suez into the Indian Ocean; via Thursday Island down to New Zealand; from New Zealand to Fiji and Honolulu, through the Panama Canal to the East Coast of North America; thence to Europe. The list of officers is as follows: Commander, Captain-of-Frigate Lothar v °n Arnauld de la Peri^re. First Officer: Captain-of-Corvette Walther Faber. Naval Officers: Lieutenant Captains £ntz Lampreeht, Ernst Scheurlen, kratzenberg, Kleikamp and Waldemar Winther; First Lieutenants Basffnge, Gottfried Kruger, Krauss and Kaiser; Second Lieutenants Sobe. *V* de ’- un S and Otto Fechner. Engineer Officers: Engineer Lieutenant Captains Stiegel and Schenitzki; Engineer First Lieutenants Scheffer, Eiering, Lehmann and Notzold.
