MR. W. R. GILLESPIE The death of Mr. William Rollo Gillespie, a former headmaster of the Kowhai and Horotlu Schools, occurred at Hamilton yesterday, at tlw age of 55 years. Mr. Gillespie look a leading part in the affairs of the community and was the headmaster of the school for about 26 years. He was secretary of the Te Kowhai Hall trustees, secretary of the Farmers’ Club and secretary of the sports committee. He wak a Rugby football enthusiast and in his younger days was a bicycle rider of note. On leaving the Te Kowhai School Mr. Gillespie took charge of the Horotiu School for about a year.
