MR. HARRIS OBJECTS WAS NOT INVITED TO ATTEND In connection with the deputation which left for Wellington last evening, to request a necessary departmental inquiry into the site and financial side of the proposal, Mr. A. Harris, M.P., has forwarded the following telegram to the Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs: “I strongly protest against the action of certain members of the Auckland Harbour Bridge Association in arranging today’s deputation to yourself at Wellington as reported in this morning’s ‘Herald.’ without consulting myself. “As a member of the Bridge Association executive and member for the district vitally concerned. 1 had a x'ight to expect at least courtesy and an Invitation to accompany the deputation to Wellington. My first intimation was the announcement in a newspaper that the deputation left for Wellington last evening. The action of those concerned savours of party propaganda which I feel sure you do not approve and which I will certainly not tolerate.”
