TRANSPORT VACANCY

MR. G. E. TANSLEY TO STAND ‘‘lt is absolutely essential that Mount Roskill has efficient transport, otherwise the district will stagnate,” said Mr. J. Donald, at the Mount Roskill Road Board's meeting last evening, in supporting Mr. G. E. Tansley’s candidature for the vacancy about to be created on the Transport Board by the contemplated resignation of Mr. F. S. Morton. Mr. Tansley had previously intimated that Mr. Morton should be replaced by a representative of the Mount Roskill district, where the question of transport was of vital importance. Having been assured of the support of his colleagues of the Road Board, Mr. Tansley said that he had decided to offer his services on the Transport Board. On the motion of Messrs. S. Scarborough and J. Donald, it was decided to support Mr. Tansley’s candidature. The district to be represented comprises Onehunga, Mount Roskill, One Tree Hill, Ellerslie. Mount Wellington and Panmure. Air. Tansley has been a resident of Mount Roskill for the past 18 years, 13 of 'which he has sat on the district road board, of which body he was chairman for eight years.
