CONTROL BOARD The control board of the Auckland Football Association last evening received a challenge for the English F.A. trophy from Wellington. It was decided to play the game on July 20, provided it does not clash with any other fixtures. A complaint regarding the late starting in the Thistle-Ponsonby match last Saturday was received from the referee, Air. R. H. Parfitt. It was resolved to advise the Fveferees’ Association that the curtain-raiser should finish by 3.10 p.m. at the latest, even if it is necessary to reduce the playing time. It was decided to stage the game for the Navy championship pennant between IT.M.S. Dunedin and H.AI.S. Diomede, at Blandford Park on June 25. A team from H.AI.S. Philomel -will meet Rangers in the curtain-raiser on that date. The New Zealand Navy representative team, which will shortly visit Australia, will play the Auckland representatives on June 3. On the recommendation of the judi-

cial committee it was decided that as only half an hour was played each way in the third grade open championship game between Burnley and Technical Old Boys on Saturday, the game should be declared void and replayed later in the season if necessary.
