WHANGAREI MUSEUM SUGGESTION SEVERAL GIFTS AVAILABLE (From Our Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, Today. The erection of a new library and museum in Whangarel was -recommended to the Whangarei Borough Council last evening in a report from the Library Committee. The council was urged to take into early consideration a scheme for a new modern building for a library and museum. Attention was directed to the fact that several gifts had been made recently to the Auckland Museum from North Auckland, and it was pointed out that curios and historic memorials of the North should as far as possible be housed in a Northern museum. It was known that several gifts were available if the Whangarei Museum was large enough to accommodate them. At the present time it was inadequate. The recommendation will be considered later.
