RENOVATE YOUR CLOTHES WITH COLD TEA
i Black silk or serge dresses may be freshened wonderfully by sponging them with cold tea. Lay the garj ment flat on the table, brush free of ! dust, and sponge thoroughly with the liquid. The sponge or flannel should be very lightly moistened, of course, and the rubbing must be gentle and even; in the case of serge rub along the rib of the cloth. All kinds of coats made of wool serges, and tweeds in dark colours, may be renovated in the same way. Velour hats, too, take on quite a fresh appearance under the cold tea treatment. Brush the hat free of dust and warm it for half a minute before the lire. Now wring out a flannel in hot water, leaving no trace of excess moisture, and dip it into the tea. Wring again, and sponge the velour thoroughly, starting at the top of the crown and working round and round toward the brim. When the whole is treated, put the hat aside for 24 hours in an airy place to dry. Finally, burnish gently with a piece of chamois leather.
