! Opportunity was taken at the Ingleside of the Northern Wairoa Scottish Society on Friday evening- to bid farewell to the Rev. N. O. White and family, who are leaving the district temporarily for health reasons, and Mr. and Mrs. Finlay son, of Katui. Mr. G. If. Wansbone, as chairman, expressed the regret of members at the early departure of Mr. and Mrs. Finlayson for Taihape. He specially mentioned the valuable assistance given by Mrs. Finlayson at the society’s concerts, where her fine contralto voice had been heard to so much advantage. Mr. Wansbone said he hoped that Mr. White would return to Dargaville fully restored to health. Those who contributed to the fine musical and elocutionary programme were:—Mesdames Dalice Olsen. F. Watters and Finlayson. the Rev. Mr. White and family, Messrs. A. W. Christie. E. Nicol, A. Barlass, Kerr, and Wansbone. Miss Sommerville erav ? an exhibition of dancing. Mrs. Christie and Miss Smith played the accompaniments. Subsequently an enjoyable dance was held. Mrs. Christie, Misses Wansbone, Smith, Hilliam and others contributing the music. |
