Sir George Elliot returned from the South this morning. Mr. J- N. Massey, M.P., was a passen~er to Frankton by the Limited express This morning. The Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, Minister of Health, will return to Auckland this afternoon. The Hon. J. B. Donald. PostmasterGeneral, arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph Ward, will arrive in Auckland some time at the end of May and will address a public meeting. The Hon. J. G. Cobbe, Minister of Industries and Commerce, will arrive in Auckland to-morrow morning from the South. Sir Apirana Ngata, Minister in Charge of Native Affairs, caught the Limited at Frankton Junction last evening for Wellington. The Hon. G. W. Forbes, Minister of and Agriculture, visited Glen Murray and Tuakau today. He will be Auckland during the week-end. Mr. J. C. Beaglehole, formerly student ;<nd lecturer at Victoria College, who received a post-graduate scholarship in irts, has obtained a doctorate at the London University.—P.A. Mr. Albert H. Flay, B.Sc. and MasAr of Agricultural Science, has been ippointed farm and grasslan d management research and extension officer at Lincoln Agricultural College, near Christchurch. Mr. Flay is a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Flay, of Te Awamutu. The Hon. H. Aetmore. Minister of Kducation, returned to Nelson yesterday from a visit of inspection to West coast schools. He will leave for Wellington this evening and will address i conference of primary, secondary and technical school teachers on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next. Mr. A. W. Head, radio inspector in Christchurch for the Post and Telegraph Department, has received notification of his transfer to Awarua, Bluff, to become superintendent of the Awarua wireless station. He will be succeeded in Christchurch by Mr. D. .McMahon, of Wellington. Bishop Cherrington inducted the Rev. G. T. Beale, formerly of Fitzroy, at Vicar of Stratford last evening. Later the bishop left for the South. N'ext week he will be one of the principal speakers at the C.E.M.S. conference iird will proceed to Dunedin before returning to Hamilton about May 25.
