ERICA MORINI
CREATES FURORE IN SYDNEY
IVliss Ulrica IVloi'ini, who is described by English critics as the greatest woman violinist of the day. has set musical Sydney buzzing with her remarkable talents. The Sydney “.Daily Guardian” says:—“She is the greatest violinist today after Kreisler, the unassailable. In phrasing and in technique she is his equal. She possesses virtuosity, but her art is warmer, more human. Where Heifetz creates a devil from Paganini’s awful brilliance. Morini finds in it a soul. "Where Elman infuses warmth into the Beethoven Sonata in F* Major (“Spring”), Morini begets radiance, with unerring, faultless technique. With the throbbing intensity of an inspired voice it fell from the violin. Can one say more?" The Sydney “Telegraph Pictorial” says: “It is a statement of plain fact that Erica Morini has created the biggest musical sensation in Sydney for a long time. Every critic 'has' been unanimous in stamping her as a frontrank genius.” The Sydney “Morning Herald” says: “All that she did was magnetic, alive, imbued by the magic of her own personality, and she simply caried Saturday night’s audience with her on a wave of enthusiasm.” Miss Morini will give recitals in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, and possibly in Wanganui. Her Australian tour is under the direction of E. J. Carroll.
