BOY SCOUTS’ CARNIVAL HERNE BAY WINS PROUD CUP Scouts and wolf cubs were present in full force at the Tepid Baths last night when the Auckland Boy Scouts’ Association held its annual swimming sports. Big entries and keen competion were the order of the evening. The Scouts’ relay race for the Proud Cup was again won by the Herne Bay troop, the Calliope Sea Scouts’ team being runner-up. The trophy was presented to the winning team by the Commissioner, Mr. W. J. Holds worth. Results are as follow: Scouts' Championship, 100 yards.— Johnston, Herne, Bay, 1; O. Holland, Calliope, 2; R. Gee, St. David’s, 3. Scouts, under 14 years, 100 yards.—First heat: Gilbird, Devonport, 1; Pollard, Shackletor., 2. Second heat: Patterson, Calliope, 1; Doby, St. Aidan’s, 2. Final: Gillbird, 1; Pollard, 2; Patterson, 3. Clubs’ Championship, 33 1-3 yards.— First heat: Clarey, St. Mary’s, 1; Parslow, Richmond, 2. Second heat: Grant, St. James’, 1; Latta, Devonport, 2.
