BOOKMAKER’S LOSS
£SO FINE FOLLOWS RAID POLICE RECEIVE WAGERS Press Association INVERCARGILL, Today. A tobacconist and hairdresser, Arthur Edwin Butt, was fined £SO in the Police-Court today for carrying on the business of a bookmaker. The police stated that Butt was in a fairly large way, and on the day of the raid bets totalled £80; while several' telephone rings making further wagers were received by the police.
