A 3,500 MILE MARATHON
One of the queerest events in modern sports promotership C. C. Pyle's transcontinental foot-race—is at present in progress in America. It started from New York over a month ago, and by now the runners are more than half-way across the United States. Some time next month, a weary, footsore remnant of the great Bunion Derby will stagger into a Pacific Coast town to collect their share of the £1 2,000 prize-money which the astute promoter has offered. Last year, the journey was covered in 84 days, and it is estimated than 15,000,000 people saw the race from coast to coast.
