CANADIAN CHALLENGER SAILING. The local office of the Canadian National Steamships advises that the Canadian Challenger is to be dispatched for New York, Boston and Montreal at daylight tomorrow. RANGITI KI SAILING. —With passengers, mails and cargo the New Zealand Shipping Company’s new motor-ship Rang! tiki leaves Wellington for Southampton and London, via Pitcairn Island, Panama and Curacao, at midnight tonight. DAGHESTAN SAlLS. —Shortly after 1 o’clock this afternoon the tanker Daghestan left Auckland for Lyttelton, thence she proceeds to San Pedro for loading. The tanker completes discharge of her Singapore oils at Lyttelton. TOFUA CLEARS SUVA. —According to cable advice received by the local office of the Union Company, the Island passenger steamer Tofua left Suva at 2.30 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, where she is expected to arrive on Monday morning next. TAIROA AT LONDON. —Cabled news has been received by the Shaw. Savill and Albion Company that the Tairoa arrived at London on Tuesday evening from Wellington. The vessel left Wellington on March 3 for London, via New York, Boston and Halifax. WARNING TO MARINERS. —The Secretary of the General Post Office advises that the following navigation warning was broadcast from Suva Radio at 9 p.m. on May 7: “Morni lower light, red, is reported to be out of order. Mariners should approach Morni Bay with caution." ZEALANDIC'S SMART VOYAGE. —A cable message to the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company reports that the Zealandic, after a smart voyage of only S 3 days, arrived at Southampton on Tuesday afternoon from Port Chalmers. The vessel left Port Chalmers on April 4 for Southampton and London, via Panama. RUAFJMU RADIOS. —According to a radio : .-sage received, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Ruapehu is expected to arrive at Wellington next Thursday morning, May 16, from London, via Panama. The vessel has passengers and mails for Wellington, and cargo for discharge at Wellington, Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, Auckland and Nqw Plymouth.

HAURAKI FOR MELBOURNE.-Tbe Union Company advises that the motoi - ship Ilaumki now leaves AV ell melon tomorrow for Melbourne and Adelaide to complete her discharge of Pacific Coast cargo. PHORUS FROM SINGAPORE. —-The Shell Company’s tanker Phorus arrived in the stream this morning from Singapore. After the tanker Daghestnn sails the Phorus will berth at the Western Wharf to land the local portion of her oil into the company's tanks at Freeman's Fay. PORT DARWIN TO COMPLETE. "Leaving Gisborne tonight for Aueklanc., the C. and I>. Line's steamer Fort Darv.- -i is due here on Sunday to complete loading under the agency of Heather, 1 . ,erton, Ltd. It is hoped to dispan.: die vessel next Tuesday for New A ork, Poston, Halifax and London, via Panama. RAiSDALE REPORTS. —According to n radio message received by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company, the steamer Raisdale is expected to arrive at Auckland next Tuesday. May 14, from Antwerp. The vessel is bringing a cargo of basic slag for discharge at Auckland. She has allotted a berth at the King’s Wharf. TARANAKI LEAVES SYDNEY.—CabIe advice has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company that the motor-ship Taranaki left Sydm , day for Fluff, where she is due on Monday to commence loading for Home. Later she fills up at Port Chalmers. Timaru. Lyttelton, ‘Wellington, Gisborne aojc Auckland. She is due here on June 9 and is scheduled to sail finally from this port on June 12 for London, via Panama. ROTORUA DUE SUNDAY.—Leaving New Plymouth this evening for Auckland, the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the liner Rotorua is due here on Sunday to continue her loading. She is to berth at the Queen's Wharf. Later she proceeds to Tokomaru Bay, thence Gisborne, Lyttelton and Wellington to fill up. The vessel is scheduled to clear Wellington finally on May 25 for Southampton and London, via Panama. TAMAROA TO LOAD.—The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s liner Tamaroa arrived at Wellington on Wednesday morning from London, via Auckland, to complete discharge. The vessel will leave Wellington next Tuesday to load at Lyttelton and Napier, and is due back at Wellington on May 26 to fill up. The Tamaroa will sail finally from Wellington at 6 a.m. on June S for Southampton and. London, via Panama and Curacoa. PORT VICTOR S ITINERARY. —The C. and D. Line advises that an alteration has been made in the itinerary cf the Port Victor. The vessel arrived at Napier (instead of Gisborne) on Wednesday from Fort Kcmbla to commence loading. The ship left Napier last night for Waikokopu, from which port she is to sail on Saturday for Gisborne, Lyttelton, Pic ton and Wellington. The Port Victor is due at Wellington about May 22, and will sail finally from that port on May 25 for London, via Montevideo. BENHOLM FROM NEW YORK.—AII arrival in the stream at 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon was the cargo steamer Ben holm from New York. She berthed at Prince’s Wharf at 5.30 p.m. The vessel is under charter to the A. and A. Line and brings a cargo of cars, farm implements and general merchandise, all of which was loaded at New York. She cleared that port on March 3, put into Norfolk (Virginia) on March 4 for bunkers, and from there made a direct passage to Auckland, via Panama. Moderate weather was enjoyed throughout the trip. At Norfolk the Benholm loaded I, tons of coal in four hours. This is good going even for Norfolk, where patent shutes are used in coaling. Captain F.. H. Lennie is in command of the Benholm, and with him are the following officers: Chief Mr. H. Jones; second, Mr. T. W. Owen; third, Mr. L. Anderson; chief engineer, Mr. A. Stark; second, Mr. J. Skelton; third, Mr. J. Littler; fourth, Mr. J. Bland; wireless operator, Mr. J. M. Doherty; chief steward, Mr. C. E. Lambert. The New Zealand Shipping Company, which is acting as local agent for the vessel, hopes to dispatch the Benholm on Monday for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete unloading operations. THE PIAKO FROM CARDIFF. —The New Zealand Shipping Company’s cargo steamer Piako arrived at Wellington late on Tuesday night from Cardiff via the Cape of Good Hope route to discharge the whole of her cargo, which comprises mostlv railway iron. The Piako left Cardiff on March 23, and had fine weather and moderate seas until rounding the Cape. Westerly gales were then experienced, and on April 22 the ship, when in the vicinity of the Croget and Kerguelen Islands, passed at a distance of seven miles a large iceberg towering about 120 feet above the water. Strong northerly winds and high seas then prevailed until nearing Stewart Island. This was the first land sighted after passing the Canary Islands. After completing discharge at Wellington, the Piako will leave on Monday to load at Oamaru, Timaru and Bluff. She will then return to Wellington to fill up. The vessel is due back at Wellington on May 27, and will sail finally from that port on May 30 for London. Captain J. Laird, who is in command of the Piako, has the following officers:— Chief, Mr. P.
