BY A THREE-TO-ONE MAJORITY Auckland ratepayers sanctioned yesterday the Transport Board’s proposal to borrow £526,600 for tramway extensions and other improvements. Mr. J. A. C. Allum (left), although he has resigned the chairmanship of the board, has good reason to be pleased at this demonstration of the ratepayers’ confidence. He is seen above with Mr. A. E. Ford, manager of the tramways.
